Is Facebook aiming for world domination? According to the most recent world map of social networks, it is well on it’s way! Looking at maps from past years, it is obvious that Facebook was already popular but the social networking site is showing no signs of slowing.
This map is created twice a year and is based on traffic data gathered from Alexa and Google Trends for Websites. Facebook is the most popular social network in 119 of 134 countries on the map. Since this map was updated six months ago, Facebook has even taken over countries with government censorship like Syria and Iran. According to Vincenzo Cosenza, the creator of the maps, the Netherlands and Brazil will be the next countries to be dominated by Facebook.
How long will it be until this entire map is Facebook blue?
